WELLNESS
Resident Life
We take wellness seriously here at Maimonides. We have dedicated protected time for educational conference Wednesday mornings and all clinical duties stop Tuesday at midnight. We regularly have social functions every Tuesday evenings where residents and faculty have the opportunity to gather to create a strong sense of community, camaraderie, and social support that we believe is critical to having a happy, healthy, and well residency program. We like to consider ourselves a family here!
Airway Stories
We all have stories to tell. Sometimes they are funny, sometimes they’re heartbreaking, and sometimes just inappropriate. Others stories can inspire us and reaffirm our decisions to become doctors. At Maimonides, Airway events are a showcase for the stories that happen in the ED, stories that enlighten us, expose our vulnerabilities, and quietly suggest ways to overcome the challenges we all face each day. https://airwaystories.org/
Maimonides Families
All emergency medicine residents and faculty are placed into Maimonides families composed of a PGY-1, PGY-2, PGY-3, and at least one attending. The families serve as as a way to introduce new residents and fellows, provide mentorship and support, and generally give us an opportunity to connect and bond with our co-workers outside of work.
