Kimbia Arno, MD, MFA Receives National Recognition for Her Contributions to Teaching and Evaluation

The Council of Residency Directors in Emergency Medicine (CORD) Academy for Scholarship in Education in Emergency Medicine is pleased to offer the Academy Award to outstanding educators who have met rigorous standards of academic excellence within the last five years. The Academy Award supports the mission of the Academy by recognizing those educators who have an exemplary record of achievement in emergency medicine education and advancing the development of a network of mentors for future growth in emergency medicine education scholarship. This year, Dr. Kimbia Arno has been awarded by the Academy for her stellar contributions in Teaching and Evaluation as an Academy Member.
Dr. Kimbia Arno is an Assistant Residency Program Director at Maimonides Medical Center. She obtained a medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in Manhattan and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Kingston University in London. She completed her training at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL and then returned to New York to pursue both a fellowship in simulation and a Masters in Health Professions Education at NYU/Bellevue. Currently an Assistant Program Director at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, Kimbia enjoys learning languages, taking herself to the movies, post-workout popsicles, and going to bed on time.
